+71 There are those that just assume someone is unintelligent because of what they say or how they present themselves, but there's a lot more depth to intelligence, amirite?

But how am I supposed to know that someone's intelligent if they present themselves in an unintelligent way?

That's not the point, the post doesn't say assume that everyone is intelligent; it says NOT to judge people's intelligence based on a few things they have said/done. You can't measure intelligence because it's complicated, and you definitely can't measure it because of how they present themselves or what they say.

Right...but in fact we CAN measure intelligence to quite a great extent now. Now that we've established a great number of "intelligences", it's quite easy to evaluate people's various types of intelligence. Rather than seeing it as a single simple thing such as the result of an IQ test, now we can also measure emotional intelligence and other such elements, to get a more rounded picture. What pisses me off more than what the OP is talking about, are those people who use trivia and facts to measure intelligence. Like a smeghead who can recite all the countries of Europe --- a product of memory training rather than actual intelligence. If Monkeys could talk, then they could do it too.
