....or maybe it's just because you were on at 12:01 am
and the fact that people from amirite are from all over the world. 12:01 for me is 7 am in UK, 2 PM in West Australia...
Woah, woah, woah. There are more countries than just America!? And they have internet!? Whaaat. When did this happen?
Actually the reason for it is because the mods and I have seen a lot more good posts while modding, so we've had a lot more material to put on the front page. A post gets put on the front page every (I can't remember exactly I think it's around this) 12 minutes, and there are a lot of posts in line to be home paged currently. The posts from today get pushed to the back of this line, and as a result, do not get put on the home page today. If nothing from today is on the front page, then these posts will only get about 15 votes at most.
Hi, I have a question. It's probably already been addressed, but I haven't seen anyone directly ask a mod so...
If there are so many posts in line to be homepaged, what's with all this re-homepaging posts from years ago lately? Is it to keep up with the quality of the site, or to highlight some of the best from the past, or simply to provide enough content?
Good question actually. This whole good posts thing has only been happening for a little while, but the posts getting rehomepaged from years ago is a code Anthony set up in case the queue runs out of posts in line. If there were no posts in line, a post from over 1 year ago would be put back on the homepage so that the site didn't look dead and people wouldn't get bored of looking at the same posts for who knows how long. This works really well late at night when fewer mods are on working away at the site.
Oh, awesome, thanks for answering. :D
Not many people go to the just in page anymore ever since the amirite 2.0 update
