+179 You find it really sad that some people are opposed to Obama just because they think he's Muslim. He's not a Muslim, but so what if he was? amirite?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Same for if Romney being a Mormon.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

just like people voting for him only because he's black

by Anonymous 11 years ago

He probably loses more votes for that than he gains.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I don't think that's true. Maybe 20 years ago, but not now. He gets a lot of guilty votes. Polls have proven 5-10% of his 2008 votes were because he's black.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Lol, source? 10% is a gigantic number of people voting for him just because of his race. I don't think people are *that* stupid. This study (http://campaignstops.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/06/09/how-racist-are-we-ask-google/) estimates that racism lost Obama 3-5% of the popular vote.

If it doesn't matter if he's Muslim or not, why did you feel the need to specify that he wasn't?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Because he's not one, and people were claiming he was for derogatory purposes.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I was setting the facts straight. Even though it's not offensive, it's just something he's not, so people should stop making assumptions about it. Believe me, I couldn't give two fucks what either Romney's or Obama's religions are. But there are people who think the religion is what determines what makes a good president, which is completely false. Now that's only if they're not pushing their religion on the rest of us, which is for another day.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I think it's funny that for a candidate is basically required to identify with a faith if he wants a chance at being elected. Somehow I have a feeling that religion isn't a big part of Obama's life and that he just needs to show up at church sometimes to keep the general populace happy. What's wrong with an atheist/agnostic President anyways?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I think it's the fact that they think he's lying about it.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Would you blame him? I lie about my religious beliefs to people all the time because they just treat you differently depending on what you associate with.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I agree, but he's the president so it's kind of different. People want to know every little thing about their lives.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

How dare someone have different beliefs.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

man honestly it don't really matter to me. i know there are gonna be a lot of ignorant people in this world and no matter how many times you try to convince them they are wrong, theyll continue insisiting they are right as rain. and let it be. if they wanna be ignorant, nothing i can do but let them live ignorant

We weren't opposed to Obama because he may or may not be muslim. We are opposed to what obama did because it was destroying the country.
