I don't understand why an 18 year-old can be drafted to fight in a war, but when he comes home on leave, he can't enjoy an ice cold beer. Either raise the draft to 21 or lower the drinking age to 18.

Before the age of 21(ish) Alcohol causes brain damage regardless of quantities. Bullets and bombs don't age discriminate so the age of adulthood is reasonable for draft.

@Neighbor Alcohol causes brain damage after 21, too.

"Before the age of 21 Alcohol causes brain damage regardless of quantities" think about that sentence Neighbor. After the age of 21 alcohol only causes damage in excess, and can actually be good for you in reasonable quantities. Understand now?

I've heard that a lot of places like bars will let soldiers etc drink even if they're not 21, because of their service.

But there isn't a draft...

I do believe the drinking age should be lowered to 18 though.

There's not currently one in place, but the government is still allowed to initiate one and guys are still required to register when they turn 18. So technically, an 18 year old can be drafted.

I disagree about 18. While my parents turned out fine, there are too many stupid 18 year old high schoolers who would ruin their lives.

The government has said soldiers can drink no matter their age
