If we are paying tax dollars for public schools and we are providing or paying for school lunches why are parents also forced to pay for an entire classroom of snacks each month? I should not have to pay for other children to have a snack at school, they are not my kids.
I feel like this site is being overrun by soccer moms.
Does that actually happen? In my elementary school, kids would just bring their own snacks for snack time.
I somehow doubt that they're forcing you.
statefarm is still the master amiriter
My sister went to public school, and every once in a while she would come home with a letter saying 'Congratulations! It's your turn to bring in snacks for the class' and would then just list stuff that needed to be avoided because of allergies. It sucked. Especially that 'congratulations', as though you've been specially chosen.
What the fuck are you on about?
I think this situation really depends on the school. I used to babysit kids who went to a school where every week a different parent would be responsible for the snacks. But that was a private school, I don't think public schools can force that on a parent.
YOU'RE THE REASON ALL THOSE KIDS ARE OBESE. I HOPE YOU'RE HAPPY.
Depends: are the snacks nutritional (or do they at least include nutritional snacks?)
