I beg to disagree.

I agree that liars rely on others telling the truth in order to obtain an advantage (see the prisoner's dilemma and game theory in general), and as such place a "value" on truth (i.e. what they can get out of it).

The truth to an honest man though is not a single transaction though, it is part of their identity and underpins their whole life. As such an honest man values the truth far more than any liar
