But do you pronounce foul like towel? I would make foul two syllables.
Plus I often say smy-ull, making that two but I sometimes do say smyl making it one.
And I also say fire like fighter with no t, which would be two.
I did a quick search on dictionary.com they may be informal so that could be it
they usually show alternative pronunciations but I didn't see it for the ones you listed
aren't there certain words that have only one official way of pronunciation?
