+161 Doing things that hurt you (like cutting yourself) don't hurt you nearly as much as it hurts the people who care about you. The pain stops after a little while for you, but for them they feel it until the cut fades, amirite?

if they cut sideways call them a pussy and that if they weren't just being attention whores they'd cut down the arm lengthwise

Not all cuts are on the underside of the arm, some people just want to feel something not necessarily commit suicide. Endorphins are released when the body is damaged to counteract the pain, making the cut person feel good. A good cutter makes lots of tiny incisions in an unnoticeable place so that no one feels bad because of what they did, and they can continue doing what they do. It's more efficient than smoking or drinking, and it works.

Yeah, but this isn't very effective (cutting in unnoticable places) when they feel the need to tell you the next day, and then every day afterward when they look sad, if you don't make sure they aren't doing this to themselves you feel all guilty. And then you feel even more guiltier when you don't want to tell someone and make the friend mad at you, but people always tell you that's the only way you can help. So it hurts you and causes you way more problems. Or, even if they don't tell you, if they're really good friends with you, you always know when something's wrong and you notice smalll things you piece together until you come to the conclusion and demand to know the truth, which they have to tell you because you always know when they're lying. And then the whole guilt thing happens

ahem, slicing the vein across is much more harming than slitting it. we dont do it cuz we want to die. we do it to make it feel better. if we were trying to die we would slit our throats.

You're fucking retarded if you cut yourself.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Hey. That is not true. People who cut themselves aren't "emo," unless they show people and need attention. People who aren't doing it for attention are hurt emotionally, and they have gone through a lot. Please don't judge, kay?

When I used to cut myself, I didn't tell anyone. And those who knew didn't exactly care. Or they didn't act like it, at least. It hurt me more. I have to hide scars whenever I wear shorts, or short sleeve shirts. They will never fade. It's a permanent reminder of what I once was.
