Omg! It's so annoying when people say 'british accents'. British could mean irish, scottish, english. They all sound different!

It's British to Americans. But to everyone else its English.

If you say British accents, you're referring to Scottish, English, Irish, Liverpool, London, Southern, and Northern accents. If you mean 'British' accent like they speak in....Harry Potter, for example, they speak in an English accent.
