What do you think are the top five problems in the world today and what are the solutions in your opinion?

Got me wondering, watching the news today, how come it is possible that in the 21 st century my generation and the generation of my parents have the same issues and see the same global problems. This is ridicilous. Have we evolved as a species at all? What do you want to see really change in your life span in your country and/or in the world?

There are only two problems: Selfishness and ignorance.

Every bad deed is born out of one being too selfish to do the right thing, or too stupid to know what the right thing is.

Forgot about solutions. There are no solutions, humans are selfish and ignorant by nature. No way to get rid of that.

Selfishness, true and complete selfishness is pretty near impossible to combat, but ignorance? That's something quite a bit easier to take on. Can it not also be argued that a great deal of selfishness is also ignorance in that they are too isolated or uninformed to understand the effects of what their greed is causing to those they are effecting and therefore lack the intellectual and emotional foundation needed to develop empathy? Yes, there are absolutely some sadistic bastards that know exactly the pain they're inflicting on another, but those are more rare. Even the ones who purposely cause pain and discomfort, emotionally or physically, to another rarely understand the full scale of what who they are hurting is feeling. That is ignorance. Now, combating ignorance, one needs to bring the information to the light. The information is more than likely already there, but it goes back to the problems you mentioned before. Either people don't know it's there, don't know where to find it or don't care either way. If we can find a way to bring information forward on topics people are uninformed or misinformed on, and present it in a way they can understand (which is the real tricky part sometimes) then ignorance would just crumble. Even a great deal of selfishness brought on by ignorance would fall, I believe.

In the informative age that we live in if people don't already seek the news out for themselves it's doubtful that any effect can be drawn from them at all. Our attention should be focused on those on the other end of the spectrum, those who seek the news out and when confronted by the sensationalized nature of today's media react with nothing but cold apathy. This is where our attention should be focused because these people at least have some drive to stay informed and a deeper part of them must also want to help. Unfortunately for all of us, neither me nor any other person has come up with an adequate solution for this, which is, in my opinion, the real problem.

Money is the biggest problem. You can't live in this world without money, you can't be happy without money. It's ridiculous, really, how we rely on a piece of paper and some metals to get us what we need to live.

Lack of compassion. I could say that is our biggest problem

If there were solutions, they wouldn't be problems.
