Since the early 16th Century the 4th of July has been prohibited in England by declaration of King Henry 2nd. This was the day that his favourite pet marmoset died and, in his honour, and no little superstition, he declared that 4th July should no longer exist. UK calendars jump straight from 3rd July to 5th July. Its a fact. It is.
