Is war inevitable? Is it a natural state of human affairs or an aberration, absent from our distant past and perhaps, our future as well?

Human history is splattered with blood. 160 million people died in dozens of wars in the 20th century alone.

Yes, I think war is inevitable, and sometimes needed. Granted, some wars have been done over the stupidest things, some even seemingly over nothing at all, at least that we can figure out and get a definitive answer to.

Not everyone lives happily under their government regime, and will eventually break out to fix it. Some countries are never going to get along, for whatever purposes they have. Sometimes it's over religion. When you have so many people on this planet, statistically, you have strife. Some people take that strife further and it erupts in war (for good or bad purposes). Every empire has eventually fallen, so yes, we are a war-like race and conflict, big and small, are always going to happen.
