-18 If you were offered the power to be a different person of your choice every week for the rest of your life, you would take it, amirite?

this goes back to the saying //be careful what you wish for// the idea of never going back to my body (back to familiarity) is not too pleasing

But you could use that power for good, making it so worth the sacrifice to never return to your body. Imagine what you could do with a person’s money, power and influence. Heck, you could make the world a more peaceful place or initiate a world war if you wanted to.

what would happen to the person inside the body?

by Anonymous 10 years ago

I don't know. But you wouldn't share the body and when you move to the next body they remember everything you did as if it were them.

would I be affected by his/her hormones, since it is his/her body?

by Anonymous 10 years ago

I guess so. That would be interesting.

But if you ever fell in love or wanted to make friends, it would be sad. This reminds me of a book I read called Every Day. it was about a person who was in a new body everyday, and it made relationships difficult.

Yeah, it would be like impossible to maintain a relationship. But all the different professions you could be and the all skills you could have fun with. As well as all different cultures and lifestyles you could experience and settings that you could be in.

I think it would be fun for a bit, but I wouldn't want it forever.

Being in someone else's body every single week for the rest of my life...hmm. That's like staying in a different place each week. You'll never truly have a home because you're just jumping around everywhere. Some people prefer that, but most people eventually want to settle down somewhere and have a family. Having a different body every week is like living in a different place every week. Your soul will never have a permanent place to reside in, and will just skip from person to person. You'll never be able to stay in one body, have relationships/friendships, or get used to any of your surroundings. It'll be fun for a little bit, but after while you'll get tired of going from body to body and you'll wish that you just had one permanent body to be in forever. You will basically never be able to be yourself for the rest of your life. Plus, I don't want somebody else all of a sudden entering my body and living my life for me. This reminds me of that movie, The Host. The main character's, Melanie's, body was taken over by an entity, Wanda, from another planet, but Melanie still existed. Only Wanda could talk from her body, and Melanie was just left in her thoughts. Wanda basically lived Melanie's life and Melanie could only command her what and what not to do, and sometimes cause muscle spasms.

I would love to be someone else and make a difference in the world by being them or something, but... The thing is, by being someone amazing with a lot of money and power, I would hate going back to my body and being me. Honestly I love being myself. There's no need for me to start wanting stuff I can't have and always be depressed hehe Or I can really hate it and learn to appreciate my life even more... It depends. I don't think I'd be able to take that opportunity though.

It is human nature, that we drop the value of something we want, when we get it. This is something we do to invoke progress, to move on. Yeah, i wanna be Tom cruise, or whatever, but once i get to be someone i want to, it'll not take me more than a month to say to myself, "it's not that great"
