How has genius changed since the 1700's?
A recent encounter led me to Voltaire and out of further curiosity discovered that he was a prolific writer having written some 2,000 books and pamphlets. It reminds me of many other greats who have accomplished incredible things when technology wasn't nearly as prevalent as it is today. Of course, I am aware of the many geniuses of our day; however, many "aha" moments I have are results of things written or said many, many years ago. It leaves me wondering, how have we changed in regards to our intellectual curiosities? Has it been a change for the better or for the worse? Do you think there will be as many iconic and notable figures produced in recent times as have been produced in the past?
