Dont tell me that it reflects light from sun, cause during war emergengy cities are asked to switch off lights to avoid visibility.

The immense gravitational forces of the stars are able to overcome the electromagnetic repulsion of atoms and forces them to fuse. Nuclear fusion releases a LOT of energy; the composition of which includes a lot of heat and light.
