Are we trying too hard to make the sick members of the congregation well and neglecting the well until they are sick?
I once heard it said that in a church we tend to try too hard to make the sick members of the congregation believers again when we should be concentrating on those who are still well and believers, that way they will strengthen the church and bring back the sick to health. Are we doing this with society? Are we simply trying to hard to get those who lack enthusiasm and get up and go to do better at the cost of neglecting those who work hard and contribute to their communities and the world in general? It seems now more than ever we need to encourage the strong to do more which in turn will hopefully bring along the weak.
