How can we increase the amount of capital available for social innovation?
I work at the nexus between for profits and not for profits. When we consider the amount of risk capital available for not for profit based social innovation focused on the digital world -- it is so small and not paricularly nimble. Is it any surprise that few digital platforms built for the public good have achieved considerable scale? The list is small....Mozilla, Kiva, Wikipedia, Creative Commons, etc. And it makes me wonder about what we are missing as a society.
How do we solve this problem?
