The crowdsourcing of political and social advocacy advertisements can lessen the influence of money in our politics and democracy.
Several websites are emerging that help distribute and create political and social issue advertisements. The idea behind many of these groups and companies is to lessen the roll of money by giving everyday Americans the same media distribution tools as the established political machinery. If these groups achieve critical mass, how will it change the influence of big money in our democracy? If individuals, or small groups of individuals are creating and distributing their own political and issue advertisements, how will the big money groups keep up? Can small groups of people have an affect on elections and the beliefs of our country using these systems?
