It seems like no elderly women have long hair. Do they all decide to have perms, does hair just naturally grow that way once you get old, or what? amirite?

where I'm from
all the elderly women have long hair

it does grow (maybe much slower)
it's just really silvery
and sometimes, very thin too

The perm thing makes sense. It can be very damaging to perm hair, especially when done incorrectly. This results in hair that breaks off easily and that is very thin. I'm sure that a lot of women permed their hair regularly when they were younger, because that was the current popular style of hair, and because there was less information on the effects of chemicals, many perms were regularly done incorrectly.
