@fuzala cool beans so your birthday was last month? I'm gonna guess September 14, 1993 a little off though, right?

yeah, a little off, its September 17, 1993, but I was told by my mom that I was born a day late. I was originally supposed to be born September 16, 1993. Whats your birthdate?

@Cowboys6400 yeah, a little off, its September 17, 1993, but I was told by my mom that I was born a day late. I was originally...

@fuzala so November 1997?

Right before the day of November, lol. Guess I was an early bird.

@Cowboys6400 you were born on halloween 1997?

Yepp. It's kind of ironic though. I don't even celebrate Halloween!

@fuzala I don't celebrate it either

I've had lots of people say things like, "Ooo, so does that mean you get extra candy!?"

@fuzala I don't celebrate it either

for both of you, is it because of religion?

@Cowboys6400 for both of you, is it because of religion?

It is for me. Plus, I don't like the basis of how the holiday came to be.

@Cowboys6400 I heard it started in Ireland.

I know the source of it is of a pagan tradition. It dates back to the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain. The Celts believed that ghosts returned to the earth on October 31st, and the door of the underworld was opened and let cruel spirits and dead relatives pass through. While visiting houses to collect food for the feast to host their dead family members, they would dress up in costumes to confuse the cruel spirits.

Since I don't believe that ghosts roam the earth, or in an underworld, I don't celebrate this holiday, along with because of my religion. Plus, some people further say that it's the Devil's birthday. I don't believe it is, but even if, then I don't get why anyone would want to celebrate it. Plus plus, I believe the only reason Halloween even still exists is because of commercialization. All holidays are just commercialized and used as ways to make as much money as possible in the shortest time as possible.

@Cowboys6400 not all holidays.

Oops, yeah not all. Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentine's Day, Easter. Those are the ones that are commercialized.

@fuzala I'd be cool with celebrating Thanksgiving show gratitude and whatnot

So would I. Plus, even though I don't celebrate it, my family still gets together with extended family.

@Cowboys6400 How are Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter commercialized?

During those times, you start seeing certain things in stores.

Before Thanksgiving, people go Black Friday shopping. I don't know if that's anyway connected, but usually people go Black Friday shopping for Thanksgiving, and mainly Christmas.

Before and during both Thanksgiving and Christmas, you start seeing tons of sales. Stuff are put on sell because the sellers know people will flock to the stores based on the sales, and that will in turn generate more money. But they use these holidays because it has been commercialized, and so every time holiday season roles around it's time to go shopping.

On Easter, the focus is on Easter eggs and candy. I can't really explain Easter, I know barely anything about it. Here's a few links, though. http://macaulay.cuny.edu/eportf...ion-of-easter/ http://www.holybible.com/resour...zed_easter.htm http://washtimesherald.com/opin...d-as-Christmas

@Cowboys6400 have you made anyone feel old because of your age?

Yes, quite often. But, I am very mature for a twelve year old.

@Cowboys6400 awesome! its good that youre breaking the stereotypes.

that actually is a stereotype

I've heard multiple people say they are mature for their age

https://www.google.com/#q=I%27m+mature+for+my+age

I, on the other hand, am a late bloomer
and I have always been immature for my age
(depending on the type of situation)

that may be a stereotype too

@fuzala that actually is a stereotype I've heard multiple people say they are mature for their...

No, that actually is true for me. I am twelve and a freshman in high-school. I have already picked my vocation, I have picked my collage, and I have a plan to be finished with six years of collage by the age of twenty-two.

@Handymanny No, that actually is true for me. I am twelve and a freshman in high-school. I have already picked my vocation, I...

I wasn't saying it wasn't true for you

I just said it was stereotypical

I've heard many people say they were mature for their age

The year I was born was 1995 and the year I was conceived was 1994.
