+24 The reason many people will not share their thoughts, views, or opinions is because it leaves them transparent and vulnerable. Amirite?

The reason is more likely ha they don't have views on topic of interest to you. Ask them what they think about the IPhone or Miley and they yak your ear off.

You may be correct, but I was not posting this post in reference to ME personally. I am talking about just in general and as a rule in society at large. I have, however, discussed Miley on here but never the Iphone.

of course and I didn't me you "you" I mean it generically. I think most people spout off opinions all day long just general not about topics of interest to me. I overhear the most intense and yet mundane conversations that seem filled with thoughts views and opinions about things like TV shows, other people's choices of dress, and the audacity of shopping clerks.

Thanks for the clarification....that cleared it up. I still wish they could add voice and/or face to plain text. There are so many little hidden things that you can't detect when JUST reading print!

But the majority of we humans really are sheeple.

by Anonymous 10 years ago

And that is sad in my opinion. Every individual has a brain and a mouth. Both were intended for regular use.

on the other hand, that makes living in society actually possible.

by Anonymous 10 years ago

What? Having the masses be sheep while only a handful are in charge? That is not the kind of society I envision.

by Anonymous 10 years ago

maybe you don't envision it, but I think it makes living together more feasible.

Sadly I agree. I have posed on "followership" before. Society is based on a system of few leaders and many followers. Too many cooks... I hate that we humans evolved this way but we did. If no one was a sheep then we would have anarchy. You will note the Christ was both a Shepherd and a Lamb. Human culture is steeped in sheepishness.
