Pay for content providers, already underway. People will begin to understand that economy will fall apart if "we" stop typing on our computers and they will pay us to do this. Youtubers are leading the way, (some FBers and Tweeters too) soon Amirite will need to pay us for our posts or we will post elsewhere.
Never thought of it as a big movement
There is a lot of discrimination against the ugly and we, um, I mean, they are demanding that it stop!
I resemble that remark
Such an amazing song...for lack of better words
That'll be the campaign poster
Probably something to do with atheists.
I could see that - but that will likely only be in the US. Atheists are not as mistrusted or loathed in Europe or Asia.
True. Same with homosexuals it seems. When I went to France, it seemed so much more liberal over there. Man I wanna live elsewhere...
France is not as liberal as they would have you believe. The truth is that in most ways, the UK has nearly always been the most liberal, open and free country in Europe, but is constantly portrayed as this bastion of ultra conservatism where nothing is okay. France has a lot more draconian and unconstitutional (by US standards at least) laws than countries like England, for example, which actually has pretty much none. Germany is similar.
I didn't say the UK wasn't liberal. I wouldn't know much about the laws though. Are you saying Germany is liberal or conservative in disguise?
First, don't start on the defensive. I didn't say you were wrong about the UK, did I? I'm pointing out how France is NOT as liberal as you might think. Neither is Germany. Did you know that in both of those countries, it's actually ILLEGAL to be a holocaust denier? Now...I'm no holocaust denier, and I think people who are are kinda cray cray, but seriously...making it a criminal offence to think differently...how Orwellian is that?!
I'm not on the defensive. Just making sure you understand me and I understand you.
And I thought Germany was one of the most liberal.
Mainland Europe has always attempted to portray itself as more liberal than the UK through small acts like having more porn on regular TV, and more boobs in their artwork. But the truth is, those countries are actually governed by these uber-socialist mind controllers who attempt to govern every aspect of people's lives. Look at the way the EU is going, trying more and more to centralize power and take it away from national parliaments. The UK is classically liberal, and has always acknowledged the freedom of each individual...except in the 60s an 70s when we went mad on socialism ourselves and nearly ran our country into the ground.
The UK isn't alone though. It's true that countries like Germany (at times), Holland, Denmark, Sweden, Norway etc have demonstrated greater liberalism, chiefly through their rejection of the Catholic church. France on the other hand...even when it went secular it kept many of its Catholic traits in good order. If you look at how people flocked to the UK from the mainland of Europe and Ireland during the 19th and 20th centuries, you'll see what I mean about how the UK was the great bastion of liberalism in Europe. It was a place you could think differently, act differently and indeed pursue your endeavors without fear of being hounded by some crazy villagers with torches and crosses, or some local corrupt tax official/clergymen. It was the original land of opportunity.
Maybe it still is. I'm looking to get the hell out of the US
I'd say spend time in all of Europe - go inter-railing, or go to Asia, where it's so cheap and easy to get by. A gap year before college is quite un-american right now, but I think it will really take off in the US. I did it, as did a lot of my graduating high school class and we feel we are all better for it.
More animal rights pls
and animal lefts as well! or both!.
Actually whole animals would be nice,
I vote for both lefts and rights together!
I tend to agree, but what gets me is the "line" I cross...
I kill mosquitoes, spiders, flies and ants with a second thought. I have baited many hooks by skewering worms, crawdads, etc. I have trapped mice and rats.
Where is the line?
Maybe Renfield (from Stoker's Dracula) was right, if you kill it you got to eat it, including spiders and fleas.
right on! to predate is with a purpose, but to kill needlessly, i think that is the line
I am guilty of preemptive strikes especially on mosquitoes and ants. Both of which have attacked me unprovoked.
I have rarely (if ever) been attacked by a fly or a mouse yet I have set many traps for both.
we maybe guilty, but i bet these animals doesn't hold a grudge against us, after all, we are the only ones in this kingdom, that can feel guilt
yes i have pets, and without a doubt, they don't feel guilt if they steal my food, they just act submissive to me, if i confront them with a threat, they bow their heads, lower their eyes, but i bet they feel not a bit of remorse
Interesting. So they show submissiveness or maybe fear and (other emotions maybe) but are incapable of some emotions like remorse? Love? Hate?
i think they recognize my superiority, something which occurs to them naturally, they need to have a leader in the wild, to guide them or lead them to food, though they will leave you if you don't provide, i don't think they'd hate me for it
yes perhaps they do, in their own way, maybe in a way we humans know nothing about haha
mine too, most definately
after having this conversation, a question comes to mind,..am i a bad pet owner?
the dogs seems always happy to see me when i come home, thinking i have something for them, the cats, well, they're always a schmuck
If the animal poses an immediate risk to myself or my family, I'll kill it. I kill poisonous spiders and poisonous snakes and ticks and mosquitoes. My cats hunt mice and eat them, and that's the circle of life. The line, I believe, is whether you kill animals for the hell of it or if you do so for protection or food.
In my mind i heard the movie trailor voice reading your comment.
Most likely gay people and the like.
That's already happening (has been for decades).
Yeh I guess that's true. Then in that case, I'm not sure.
Back to my answer it is!
this idea is not mine, but they say probably something like marrying your pet, if they can sign the contract
