but just because something is easy to understand does not mean it is simple
complex and compound-complex are objectively complex sentences
Fair enough. But that example only works because we created language. We made the rules. So we can define what is complex and what is simple. That doesn't work with the nature.

simplicity and complexity is difficult to definite, maybe sometimes only yourself can know it.
When you consider what we believed about the universe and nature just a few hundred years ago, you should be impressed with the progress we made, but don't be too complacent, we've got a long way to go!
