I'm not talking about religion I'm talking about Christ and the way he lived the fact that it was a sinless life and he made the ultimate sacrifice to die for our sin.im also not saying that Christianity as a religion is the right one I'm saying that following Christ is the right way(for me) because many people say that they believe in Christ but not all of them follow his ways. there are many people converting to Christianity or who are starting to believe in Christ.
in my mind to love your neighbour as yourself, to have faith, to abide by his commandments and rules, to forgive others to always reach out to those who are less fortunate and to repent of your sins.
Problem, I don't believe that people are born bad. I believe people are born neither good, nor bad, but, through genetic factors, and their upbringing, they are molded and shaped, whether by themself or others, into the person they will become.
The Christian bible is rife with contradictions, Jesus has never been proven to exist, and the Christian God would be a contradiction. He is unchanging, but changed his mind on laws like the not eating pork, shellfish, etc., the doctrine of free will is a joke under an all powerful, all knowing, all present, God. So unless God is illogical, and irrational, he could not exist.

There probably is no god, and if there is one, it is definitely not the christian one. Up until the French/American revolution there was no distinction between politics and religion. Religion was the way of government in the agricultural society. We are so used to this society that we now interpretate the meaning of religion different from what it used to mean.
Besides that there isn't such a thing as good or bad, all of our opinions about good and bad are created and thought to us by the society we live in. That's why there are so many different standards as to what is good or bad. If there was a god we would probably be born with these moral standards already present in our brain. Many religions try to explain this absence of moral standard by stating that god gave us the freedom to deal with morals ourselves, of course this contradicts with the whole idea of being good bringing you to heaven. The awnser provided for this paradox is the messiah, he taught us what god wants us. But then explain to me why god send his messiah around the year 0, what about all th other people living before that time? And why doens't the messiah universal recognition, if only he taught is the way to live, god would have the power to give him this recognition right?
Other than these arguments one must not forget the meaning of books in the past. Now the written word is used by everyone and anyone, we don't take the written word for definite thruth anymore. Up till around 1600 writing and reading was priviliged to the smart and the rich. Till the italian renaissance writers like aristotales got no criticism at all. But by now we know better than to thrust all our live decisions to a book composed of several writers, written 1600 years ago, composed and edited for those same amount of years.
To believe in a religion is to believe in racisme. If you were born in Turkey there would be no way you'd be christian, and vice versa. So if one of the 2 is the one true religion, it depends on your birth location if you either go to hell or to heaven.
Sorry for the broken english ,it's not my first language
I like this argument, but I would differ on the definite good and bad, I would say good can be anything that benefits the society as a whole, anything that helps you to live to the full potential of a human life, or anything that respects the infinite value of another's life.
you say there's no proof then look around we are living breathing examples of Gods existence each of us individual in our own way with each of our own talents . You say there is no God then explain this to me why do we have such extraordinary minds compared to other organisms? where did life come from I mean go right back how did it all just evolve because everything has life tell me how that first life began?
Ok, tell me this: what makes you so sure that your religion is the right one? Don't say because the bible says so, because other religious books says they are the right one as well.
And, please do not bother the with the old 'prove it' stuff. I have no need to prove to anyone that God is real, nor do I have a need to defend my belief.
For a general god, I am an agnostic atheist. For the Christian god... I unfortunately am still an agnostic atheist. Yet, I'm 99.99% certain that that god isn't real though I'd never say I can know that.
because as people we need god in the form of JESUS. true christianity is love. the trinity with the holy spirit which gives us direction & love for our fellow man which we need today. christianity is the only religion of peace & love.
I'm assuming you're not talking about the whole bible, just the New Testament, because the Old Testament has the least amount of love in any religion. Most of the teachings of Jesus you will find, when you look at the Buddha's teachings. The love your neighbor as yourself, treat others as you want to be treated, No killing, No stealing, No lying, No sexual misconduct, and many more similarities I don't want to write them all down, but I will post a link http://buddha-christ.info/similarities.html
So this is just one religion, and Buddha came nearly 500 years before Jesus. Christianity, is not the only religion that teaches love and peace, almost all religions teach those concepts. I challenge you to find one that doesn't teach people to love and be peaceful.
As much as I'd like to convince all of these people that God is real, we can't. They won't listen. There are two possible things that can happen, they'll experience God and start to believe and love him as we do, or they'll remain non-believers and perish. Science can't explain how our body automatically knows how to do things. Yeah, it's hard wired in our brains, but much like computers, someone had to create it and put the information there. Someone explain to me how the instincts and workings of our entire world just "appeared" out of thin air. Explain how all of a sudden, matter can be pulled together to create something out of nothing, and how that is any less Godly than everything else. Science always explains that things don't just appear, yet they explain that as the way all of this was made. Explain that. And yeah, all this came from the Christian raised, 15 year old brain created by no less than God himself.
Well, let's start at the beginning, instincts, instincts are hard-wired into our brain, not from some creator, there was no need for this, through the evolutionary process, certain traits, and habits were more beneficial to an individual's survival, and that trait or behavior, got passed down, one example is like traditions, why do we do things a certain way, well because our parents did it that way, and their parents did it that way, and so on and so forth. Or the other alternative, is that those people with a different genealogical mutation, that, perhaps gave them a particular behavior, that was beneficial to survival, and that would have been passed down through generations, and refined through the "blind governance" of natural selection, and this would result in instincts. My explanation is more flawed, but here's a site, http://serendip.brynmawr.edu/exchange/node/3809.
Secondly, our world didn't appear out of nothing, the universe is roughly 13.8 billion years old, and our earth is only around 4 billion. Our world, formed in the accretion disk, of a main sequence star we have labeled "the sun" in this accretion disk, all the planets and asteroids, and most everything in our solar system formed.
The third point, how did something come from nothing. I would point you to Lawrence Krauss, a brilliant theoretical physicist/cosmologist, who has written a book on how something came from nothing, entitled, "A universe from nothing."
In the book he explains, in quite simple terms how our universe theoretically, looks exactly how the mathematical models predict, a universe would look, if it began, with no matter, energy, laws of physics, etc...
So I hope I have helped explain some of your questions. I hope you don't believe in God only because there are things science has yet to explain, because that is the God of the gaps.
Haven't fapped to a comment in a while.
Just wanted to come back and re-heart that one lol
amen
God is real and I say that because of personal experiences.
Can you please lay out "his" way is a few sentences, see if we are on the same page here, what are few of his most important lessons in your mind?
in my mind to love your neighbour as yourself, to have faith, to abide by his commandments and rules, to forgive others to always reach out to those who are less fortunate and to repent of your sins.
Amen. And I don't need him to be a "god" for those to make sense.
true but you need him to be a God too understand why you repent of your sins.
Why? Avoid "sins" and when you err make it right if you can. No god needed.
You cant really avoid sin when you were born with it you.
Problem, I don't believe that people are born bad. I believe people are born neither good, nor bad, but, through genetic factors, and their upbringing, they are molded and shaped, whether by themself or others, into the person they will become.
Mate. If you have trouble figuring out murdering someone is wrong without the help of a book, kill yourself.
He is real.

That cannot be determined from the data available to humans.
There is no proof of his existence so I must say no.
Can you prove She does? :)
Ah, you'd be surprised what I'd believe. But it doesn't matter. What matters is that to you, or others it is real. And so it is important.
you say there's no proof then look around we are living breathing examples of Gods existence each of us individual in our own way with each of our own talents . You say there is no God then explain this to me why do we have such extraordinary minds compared to other organisms? where did life come from I mean go right back how did it all just evolve because everything has life tell me how that first life began?
An invisible magic man made it so yep, there's your proof.
Ok, tell me this: what makes you so sure that your religion is the right one? Don't say because the bible says so, because other religious books says they are the right one as well.
Pick up a Biology textbook. It has the answers to all those questions.
Dammit, dude, when you post shit like this, you're not acting any better than the pepople trying to convert everyone to Christianity.
Absolutely real.
And, please do not bother the with the old 'prove it' stuff. I have no need to prove to anyone that God is real, nor do I have a need to defend my belief.
Because I'm Christian and yes God is real CAPITAL G!!!

If he does exist he would have to be a logical contradiction
Lol came back to this question today. I agree
I don't believe so, but that doesn't make me right.

The God of the Christain bible is a logical contradiction.
I don't know.
I think the Christian God is real to Christians and that is important.
