Should the US, as a whole, have an 'official language'?

I'm sure a lot know this, but the US doesn't have an official language (with the exception of a couple states). So should it stay like this, or should we make English the set language considering it's the most spoken?

It does. But if you're talking about every city in the U.S, no because being ethnically diverse is what makes the U.S. great...well, not as bad.
