Finally some optimism
F*ck your optimism! (Jk)
If you compare today's morals to that of the past, I feel as though we're progressing.
How are we morally worse? I suppose persecuting black people, lynching and imprisoning gays, colonizing other people and using their natives as cannon fodder in wars is the highly moral behavior of the past that you're referring to? Not to mention genocide being something of a fact of life, torture being commonplace and what we now know as sexual harassment always just a bit of harmless joshing. Yes....the past was so moral and wonderful.
Examples? I mean, I'd rather not go back to the days of human sacrifices, atheist hangings, and enslavement (in the Americas).
I'm curious about how we (the next generation) will be able to pull America out of her economic plight...
I think the next generation is actually the smartest generation produced, but the problem is, some use their smarts in the wrong way. If the young have guidance on the right way to go, society has nowhere to go but up.
I think it's going to come down to bringing renegade corporations to heal a little bit, but ultimately in giving more economic freedom to small business people. That's how you bring a nation back from the abyss. small businesses that grow into larger ones and provide more and more jobs to a community; jobs that sustain.
there needs to be income tax cuts, spending needs to be reigned in a bit, and entrepreneurs need to be allowed the freedom to get on with what they do best.
And, taxes need to stop being spent on wars and weapons and instead be spent on education.
Happy Monday to you, too
While humans do have astounding attributes, and humankind has done a lot of things that are insanely advanced for our race, I can't feel as optimistic, because all I can think about is the fact that humans are grossly overpopulating the earth, and we're running out of natural things like forests to make room for ourselves. That, of course is in the long scheme of things. In just the next generation, though, they're gonna have a hell of a time trying to fix world relations/the economy.
Wonderful? Better? Idk about that.
I don't see it as better. It's more of change. Some changes, I'll prefer. Some I won't.
I wish I could see the world through your eyes.
better? i only see negativeness in the coming generations.
I think every single generation has characteristics that makes them them. No generation overpowers another, in my opinion, because they're all so different. It's pretty much taking characteristics of the past & building on them. We all have the good & the bads but I think ultimately things will get worse & better. However, I think the movement against police brutality, speaking up for LGBT, the wave of feminism, all that is making for a great generation.
Many people will soon be able to live their lives to the fullest without needing to bow to an employer with no compassion for them other than the amount of money they can make for their corporation. I eagerly await the day that humanity fully embraces mechanical muscles and virtual brains, for that day, many will be freed from the bonds of harsh labor.
You're right. God created some amazing creatures who do amazing things, and their creations will only get better and better.
because the world is at war over the damndest things Like Religion! Greed! And the fact that we are the only species that kills it's own so permiscuously
Nah, the next generation won't get better unless we fix it ourselves.
