Violence isn't solved with more violence - that is an oxymoron. The only way to solve violence is by doing the opposite - being peaceful to one another.

Sometimes being peaceful works, but if someone is being violent towards you, being peaceful might result in you being injured or dying. Fight with those who fight with you but never be the aggressor.

That assumes the other is like minded. In many cases, the other is bent on violence. What then.

So all we would have to have done in WW II is to be NICE to the Nazi's and the Japanese and the whole thing would have been over ? NOT !!

This is one of those things that sounds great, but doesn't have a lot of depth. Real life has a lot more nuance than that.

If we as a country simply ignore violence towards us, it will only continue. Violence is sometimes needed

That's a tough one I don't believe in violence, however when it comes to my kids all bets are off.
