Government Doesn't Need A "New" Policy Reaffirming The Fourth Amendment, Amirite?
Our brilliant policy makers are at it again, isn't it great when they inadvertently tell the truth while trying to lie??
Today the Justice Department announced a, get this, "new" policy which will require law enforcement to get a search warrant before using "secretive and intrusive cellphone tracking technology."
But wait, there's more! They're calling the policy: "the first of its kind."
Outstanding!
All police 'agencies' are out of control. When a new technology comes online they all act like the old rules don't apply. I wish they would make this "policy" apply to every agency at every level of government, federal state and local.
"When a new technology comes online they all act like the old rules don't apply."
Exactly! I laughed so hard at the first paragraph of this article, I just had to share it with others. While touting their resolve to protect citizens rights, they inadvertently admitted: "Yeah, we weren't really doing this before."
Classic...
Nice of them to finally admit there's a problem, but I'm pretty sure we already have a solution for that...
New law not needed but policy statements always welcome
Truly, they can't overstate this one enough...
Bingo, great point. Not state and locals, only the feds. So they say.
Yes, the article specified federal law enforcement, but I neglected to note it in my description. Sorry about that.
Yes, that was where I was going to with the post too. What's so funny is that this little ruse confirmed what everyone already knew, blatant disregard of the privacy protect by the 4th is the standard... It's as if the damned amendment doesn't even exist.
It's really a shame more people don't realize how many rights that one bill eliminated. The sneak a peek warrants alone are worthy of their own post.
Shadow govt. generally is something we don't often discuss in America, not as a national debate that is.
That's something truly frightening because you realize, we're never going to get rid of it...
Amen to that...
Ain't that the truth...
Nice. Hey, our uninteresting lives may be our greatest defense, right?
lol
The Fourth Amendment is good enough. Just follow the Constitution.
