It sounds like he understands trickle-down economics.

Some people continue to defend trickle-down theories which assume that economic growth, encouraged by a free market, will inevitably succeed in bringing about greater justice and inclusiveness in the world. This opinion, which has never been confirmed by the facts, expresses a crude and naive trust in the goodness of those wielding economic power and in the sacralised workings of the prevailing economic system. Meanwhile, the excluded are still waiting.

TD theory says nothing about justice in the world."Economic justice" is a liberal progressive (commie) phrase used to promote wealth redistribution.

Wealth is constantly being redistributed. It has been going more and more to the wealthy in the past few decades in this country. "Wealth redistribution" a loaded conservative (if we're into name calling... fascists) phrase used to discourage anything that might change the current wealth redistribution system.

TD theory says that in a strong and growing economy EVERYONE can experience a rising standard of living and greater opportunity than is to be had in a weak and stagnant economy. Evidence supporting this theory is all around you if you live in America today.

I'm familiar with TD theory. In my hometown, 16% live in "extreme poverty" (which is defined as a family of 4 living on less than $12,000/yr). The bottom 40% of Americans own a paltry 0.3% of the wealth in this country. TD has not benefited them.

Agree. If they care so much for the refugees, then the Vatican should be doing a heck of a lot more. They claim so much about everyone helping the poor - why the heck doesn't the Vatican sell off so many of their holdings, their art that no one sees, etc. and actually really do something about the dire situation of so many poor. Look at all the poor in Mexico and Central/South America - yet, the Vatican does nothing to really help them.

This pope is making a huge mistake. Entering into issues as divisive as "Climate Change" and economic political policy, will not unite the church. Rather the church will become another target of the already divided factions in these otherwise secular debates. Nothing good will come of that.

He does not understand anything, he needs to go back and pray.

I'll say. And i don't understand his appeal. He's pointless.

Agree. This pope is a dangerous man.

I think the pope is overrated but its a catholic thing, he changes no opinion in my life, now if he talks about the sex scandle in the church and stops that then I might think about listening.
