Every violent act is the result of an inability to frame the situation in words that can be acted upon in a meaningful way.

Precisely, which is why they suffer from an "inability to frame the situation in words that can be acted upon in a meaningful way."

They cannot frame the words in such a way that they can meaningful change the situation, and they then resort to violence.

Then why are there cases
of women talking
their way out of a potential rape?

Why do they send negotiators
to talk to a cornered perp?

All true
I can't help believing that
in any given situation
if the perpetrator had someone
willing to really listen
and help them work through
whatever is causing the build-up of angst
that they would not need resort
to a violent act.

I kick the vacuum cleaner
because there is no one here to
support my feelings of
(being the only one who lifts a finger...)
(frustration at using this crappy old machine...)
(etc.)

I take a machinegun to work
because there is no one that will
support me as I vent about
(how unfair xyz is...)
(what it's like to be picked on...)
(etc)
