All professional althetes are subject to rituals before a game. Superstition or Psychology?

Superstition is inseparable from psychology. Placebos and therapy techniques such at KT Tape depend entirely on a person's belief that the method will be successful. But the methods are often successful just from this belief.

There is a tie between them...although when I studied psychology we never covered superstition...other than in it's history....

But yes, it might have to do more with the strength of the belief...

Listen...if you won your last multi-million dollar game and you think it might have to do with twisting your cap to the right...surely you'd be doing it before the next game...

Is this a good thing or not?

In this case the belief in a ritual would have to be labeled superstition because of a total lack of logical causation. However such unfounded beliefs do also tend to stem from minds with physiological issues, except of course if the are also labeled as faith. Hmmmmm
