Who Are the Real Racists? You probably won't be surprised to learn that it's not conservatives!

The issue of race dominates our media cycle as unrest continues throughout the country and a national dialogue rages on about race and supposed inequality. As this conversation worms its way through our media, the left continually maintains that conservatism is a bastion for racist attitudes.

But who are the real racists? Is it the group that asserts that everyone should get one vote- and one vote only- and that showing an ID to vote is an essential part of ensuring democratic equality?

Is it the side that asserts that minorities should receive jobs and opportunities based on merit and not receive preferential treatment based on the color of their skin?

Or is it the side that fosters government dependency and lowered expectations for minority groups?

Derryck Green of Project 21 tackles this notion that the right is filled with racists and explains everything one needs to know to be able to identify who the real racists in America are.

I think this guy's reasoning is questionable. Consider:
1. Affirmative Action is an attempt to equalize the opportunities given to those people who are at a competitive disadvantage because of historic racism (and racist policies).
2. Thus, it seems the people who support AA believe that, Blacks (for example) are still at a competitive disadvantage.

This guy states:
The irony of course, is that those who accuse Conservatives are racists, believe that Blacks and other minorities are not as capable of succeeding.
False statement.

A truer statement would be:
Those who support AA believe that Blacks and other minorities are still at a competitive disadvantage. There is no reason to believe the supports are racists themselves. In fact, I would argue the opposite is likely true.

Similarly, the video states that people who oppose voter IDs believe that Blacks are incapable of getting this ID. Actually, they believe that people in the lower class, of which many are Black, are at a disadvantage when it comes to obtaining such an ID.

His last example is the worst.
He claims that the people who oppose school vouchers do so because they don't trust Black parents to select an appropriate school for their children.

Huh? I believe people oppose school vouchers realize that the children in such a system would receive an education that is a function of their parents' wealth. All other variables (e.g. intelligence, drive, etc..) would be secondary at best.

If conservatives were racist then why did they free the slaves from the democrats?

A racist is someone who identifies people by race. Period.

Do you mean people like Louis Farrakhan, Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton?

I actually meant this post

I trust you to determine, when you hear it, that you heard it.

I see no reason to categorize people by race, we are all humans.

@Cezar

That's disgusting!
