When two or more batteries go dead, in the same electronic item, Do not mix any of the old batteries with any of the new batteries. Please replace all of the batteries that are or were inside of the item you are dealing with.

If you mix manufacturers, you're not buying exclusively one of their brands which is a sin.

It means the item is not going to work if you just replace one of the batteries. My Dad made that mistake. You need to replace both or all the batteries of the item to work properly.

I meant an old battery with a new one, not two different brands.
