When you buy something and it doesn't work properly, do you attempt to return the item where you purchased from (knowing that some stores have bad return or exchange only policies) or just throw the item away?

Depends on how expensive the item was. If it's a pricey bit of merchandise, I'll return it to the store. If it's something relatively inexpensive, I'll just toss it and chalk it up to lesson learned..

I take it back. And most stores around here will take a return, no matter what.

I bring it back. I've never been into throwing money away or settling for 'having been had'....

I still return it.

I try to return it or get an exchange.

Depending on the cost, I usually fight it out with the store.
