a theory as to why gay people exist viewed through the lens of genetic diversity and its possible advantage. THEORY BELOW IN THE DESCRIPTION. (i'd love some feed back)
WARNING/DISCLAIMER:first off id like to state i have a scientific bias as i am gay and have a form of schizophrenia. the reason this can be considered a bias is that my theory could be considered as a form of social placation and a form of emphasis on the possible positive traits that could occur as a result of my groups existence and should be noted as a personal bias toward wanting my theory to be correct.
people who are gay have a much higher chance to have a mental illness or hormonal disorder than the average person.
having gay people around may reduce illness transferred genetically via the people in question not producing offspring which in theory should over all befit the population.
1: CORRELATION VS CAUSATION
1.1:it is possible that having a hormonal or mental illness may be a cause of people developing sexually into gay people.
1.2:it is possible societal pressure on a homosexual individual may be the cause of mental disorders within the community.
2: GENETICS VS ENVIRONMENT
2.1:not all mental illnesses or hormonal imbalances are genetic.
2.2:it is not certain to what degree genetics or environment play a role in homosexuality or mental disturbances and hormonal disturbances.
3.1: as far as im aware there are no studies to back up this claim and it is just a hunch.
