Do you think the North Dakota Pipeline is a good idea (agree) or a bad idea (disagree)?
I'm completely on the fence about this. On one hand there is the environment and native Americans. On the other hand oil is very useful. More oil should reduce the cost helping poor people.
I just don't know. Here's a link from change.org, not sure what to believe.
I've changed my mind, I think the North Dakota pipeline is a good idea. Here's why, and btw, my view is not set in stone feel free to argue me down.
0. Jobs that will boost the economy for both building and maintaining.
1. Step on a religion, I'm a militant atheist, why should we respect the native American's religion? Btw, was Christian before, so I saw no reason to respect a heathen religion. In fact, I was taught to disrespect all non-Christian religions and disassociate myself with believers of heathen religions.
2 Corinthians 6:14King James Version (KJV)
14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
2. Save on the environment
I am of the opinion that the pipeline will help save on the environment since pipelines are a better and safer form of travel than train and trucks.
0. I feel some level of guilt about Caucasian people trespassing further upon native American lands.
It is not an easy win, but overall I think the Pros outweigh the Cons. Solar panels consume oil. I think environmentalists need to pick their battles carefully and not just automatically oppose big oil at every turn.
Instead, we need to focus on electric cars, ending factory farming, and sustainable energy sources like windmills, watermills, solar panels, and developing new Eco-friendly sources of energy.
Also, we need to focus on sidewalks and bike trails in suburbs. I would love to walk more places, but there is no sidewalks in my neck of the woods, so I am forced to use a car. :(
Feel free to argue with me, I apologize in advance if I offended anyone, that was not my aim. Thanks for reading.
Big FAT NO
Can you elaborate please?
It's not needed.
