I keep hoping that guy stops doing that.

See woman in pic? Now you've seen her boobs. You know what they look like...

See-through clothing just gives an illusion of safety.

It cuts down on mosquito bites...

Well clothes is worn for fashion, comfort, safety when the temperatures drop, etc

It all has a point that goes beyond "coverage"

Sometimes, it is just sweet and innocent.

Didn't they make a big deal out of that?

Yes, and they looked like asses, going after a 19 year old girl.

I like see through clothing in my own home, but not out in public.

The point?

Yes...like Rene Russo in The Thomas Crown Affaire...where she was wearing that dark purple dress...doing the tango with Pierce Brosnan (before he got old)...

But parts of her body were strategically covered...it was more effective since it came across as a tease...

Taz... Can you update this post pic please? It got deleted...tx

For that movie Rene Russo interviewed (was trained by?) a top Madam of a brothel in New York for the role...

To be sexy enough for the role...she's very enticing...and it does add a lot to the movie...almost can say it makes the movie...

:) it's one of my favourite chic flicks...

Weather or temperature permitting. If I'm cold, my coat can become see-through, though I would rather keep it on.

I think that one must feel at ease in one's clothes, and there's no accounting for taste.

Personally, I would not like to wear the clothing shown in the picture above (the one added to the question).
