I disagree, except for the Spanish brand of Catholicism which was mostly non-Roman since they forbade their kings from taking orders from the Pope.
Roman Catholics are not really arrogant. Most are cool folks.
In the 70s there were some little church groups springing up, mostly catering to young adults. Lutheran churches hired goons to kidnap the kids and beat them into coming back to their parents' church. The kidnappings stopped because the kids were not stupid, and they found ways to let the FBI know what was happening.
I never heard about Presbyterians doing any such thing. In England, the American revolution is called "Presbyterian Rebellion" and they place the blame squarely on John Calvin even though he had been dead for over two hundred years.
A lot of the racists were Presbyterians. The ones who lynched at least in the 20th century were Presbyterians. Denmark and Sweden having their empires can be thanked to Presbyterianism, since their branch of Protestantism was technically Crypto Calvinism (and while Sweden and Denmark are officially Lutheran, neither country really renounced that - only Norway's Lutheranism is purely Lutheran). Finland wanted to be Lutheran, they hated the Calvinist movement.
