After all the misguided rhetoric against Texas and the South for wanting to secede, they have the nerve to do this. If others couldn't then they can't.
Of course they can. It's only that Texas didn't, and California did. it's not much of a shock. The question has already been considered by the courts and the courts ruled that "the constitution is not a suicide pact."
This is what I got, but I might be possible that all 49 other states would vote for them to leave. Ha!
No, the Texas v. White Supreme Court ruling in 1869 very firmly established that no state can ever secede from the union without the complete consent of all other states. The US is a "perpetual and indissoluble union."
That is like saying a stack of Yenga blocks is not allowed to collapse without the court 's permission.
The law is there, it's just a matter of whether it would be enforced, negotiated, or ignored.
This is entertaining, considering northern California wants to secede from southern California. Ha! Talk about adult children who lost a game and want to run home and hide under their beds.
It's not Russia, this is what California is doing.
I'm saying why put an embassy in that dank basement
California is just acting out.
