Is this summer in your neck of the woods? We don't have those temps until July and August around here.
I've always wanted to visit Australia. I fell in love with your country from reading The Thorn Birds, and the movie.
14 with the wind chill....
its up to a blistering 34 right now...back down to 22 tonight..
Wow, that's really unusual for the deep South.
Yea but it happens sometimes..
I once let my brother in law..talk me into going fishing when it was about this cold..
That'll never happen again..
Yikes, it's always colder around the water.
Yep, it's 34 here right now - I just got my shorts and t-shirts out, and back down to 26. It's way colder here along the coast than they thought it would be.
They can take this crap back...lol
I think by Tuesday it will be back to about 72 here..
I don't mind the cold to much. It's supposed to be 78 here by Thursday - even mid 60's on Monday. Crazy.
According to my AccuWeather app, it's a balmy 15 degrees
Yay, get out the shorts and sandals.....
We've been a cold snap for the last six days. 0 degrees at night and highs only in the teens and low '20's during the day. It's supposed to break during the night and tomorrow's high is supposed to be in the '40's . THAT is going to feel like summer compared to what we've had
I think every one is experiencing very odd weather. Today...(Sunday)...it is 2 degrees with a wind chill factor of -11 degrees. But that's fairly normal for my state, it's always cold in January. But on Thursday they are predicting 60 degrees, and that's NOT normal.
DIE WINTER DIE!!!!!!! Bring me to LA NOW!!
I hear ya hon.
That's pretty cold, I didn't realize it got that cold in your state. Brrr.
Wow, we've never had that happen here, and it's been -17 degrees before. But I do worry that could happen. Hope things improve soon.
We have both, but only use the well water for outside watering. When it gets really cold, I open my cabinet doors under the kitchen sink, because it's on an outside wall. So far we've been lucky.
I've heard where pipes freeze up and burst then there's a real mess and expense.
It's warmed up to 31. It was 26 when I got up...but consider, I live 10 miles from the Gulf. It got colder here than they expected along the coast - really glad I covered up my plants, and brought my ivy plants in. It was 17 at my son's house in the Dallas area, and 19 at my other son that's just a bit north of Houston.
The weather has really changed, hasn't it? They are predicting ice and snow in Georgia, a few years back that was unheard of. It always gets pretty cold here in January. And next week they are predicting in the 50's. We always say if you don't like today's weather, stick around it'll change in a few days, and it does. lol
It's supposed to be 78 on Thursday and Friday, and then get back down in to the 40's the following week. How crazy is that? No wonder everyone is sniffling!
lol That's real crazy, 78 would be a dream come true. I know all about the sniffling, I've had a cold since before Thanksgiving and I just can't get rid of it.
I hear ya'. My allergies have been giving me fits since about then, too. Worst allergies I've had in years.
Hope your holidays were good. Know you have some family 'issues', but hope your days were blessed anyhow. I was at my son's and ended up being there almost 2 weeks. They were having car issues, and as God works in his timetable, they found a car that has their name all over it, on the Monday after New Year's since I was heading back on Tuesday. Had a nice long visit with them.
Glad you were able to spend some time with your family. That's always a lot of fun.
Our holidays were great, lots of good food, of which I ate too much, as usual. But things are back to normal now....snow and cold is usual for January.
Glad to hear the holidays were good. Hated to see everything have to go back to normal, but was also somewhat glad of it.
Same here, but once I start taking the decorations down, I can't wait for "normal."
We did the last of it today - got the tree down and everything is packed away. I've just been to lazy to do it before now.
It can be a real job. We took ours down last Sunday. I was just going to take a few things down and put away and leave the tree up, but once I started I didn't stop. lol
Wow. That's a dream life. You just covered up your plants and brought some in?
You'd dislike it here.
I was in Canada once during the winter for a sales meeting. I couldn't get over the 'garages' made of snow/ice so people could park their cars there, etc.
Nope, don't want that kind of cold.
No wonder you are the way you are.
Not having grown up with that kind of cold has something to do with it. Add to that the fact that I'd rather be outside than inside, I'd get cabin fever. Of course, I nearly get cabin fever here in the summer since it's so dang hot, humid and lasts so long.
I've always lived in the Midwest, so I'm used to our weather, but I do get cabin fever usually in February. That's when we start thinking...VACATION getaway.
Sounds like spring in my area.
It's 56 degrees now, with a predicted low of 39. Pretty nippy for where I live now, and I'm liking it.
Sounds good to me.
I've lived in places where it would be in low teens and 20's by now, with plenty of snow. Most of the time, I liked that okay, too.
I don't mind the cold weather if I don't have to go out in it. lol
-17° here with windchill factor.
OMG, hope you're staying inside today, I am.
Yes...but just by accident. Eventually one has to go out...
5 degrees all day long.
