Oh many times I have set out on a starry night & wondered what other life was out there other than our own.
I also wonder if we aren't just small micro-organisms on a much larger being much like the ones that reside on us.
Too much Star Trek I guess.
Not too much Star Trek. Very valid. :)
Ever research "String Theory" Ozzy?
Not yet, but I will.
I don't like to think that. They might come here and eat us up.
More likely a species very similar to us, depending on evolution and technological awareness. If we someday have the technology to visit other Stars, I'd hope we hadn't simultaneously devolved into a species that would "eat up" all the inhabitants. :)
There must be other life out there somewhere. Too much of a fluke for it to have only developed here.
You are assuming that life is a chance event. It is not. Life is a black swan event: if you see one you know there is at least one. But if you don't see one, you don't know anything.
Science is based on observations. Life on other planets has not been observed, so the concept is science fiction. It depends only on your story telling abilities.
I think is human arrogance to believe that of all the planets in all the galaxies in all of the universe, earth is the only one with intellegent life.
I think we may be a less evolved species compared to the possible age of worlds we cant even see, but know are there.
Yup. I think we are getting there quickly. I honestly believe humans may visit other Solar Systems in my Lifetime.
You must be a young man.
I find it more feasible that we may be visited in my lifetime, if we havent already heen
The acceleration of the advances in technology overwhelm me. We are getting to the point where tomorrow may be very different from today. Next Thursday may be 10x more advanced. I'm by no means young anymore. I just pay attention to scientific trends. :)
Well, keep me posted, i dont keep up. But any cedible info always interests me
You ever get bored look up Moore's Law. Some pretty interesting stuff. There will shortly come a time where reality is simply up to imagination. And don't believe the naysayers. Multi threading is alive an well.
Love to read interesting stuff....im on it
I also believe humanity is evolving right next to technology. Perhaps another conversation. :)
Arrogance is when people think they can guess distances to stars when they can't measure them.
We have no reason to believe anything at all about alien life. Not the first clue for or against.
True. At the same time. Given the number of Galaxies and Stars that we are aware of.. the odds are something somewhere other than Earth is looking up, and pondering those points of light.
None at all? If there were neighbors, You wouldn't be curious?
Same here. LOL! Though I think the intergalactic ones might be more entertaining. Could be wrong. :)
