Is your Country in Eurovision?

We'll have the Semi-Finals in 9 and 11 May and the Final on 13 May. On 31 October 2016, EBU (European Broadcasting Union) announced that forty-three countries will participate in the 2017 contest, equalling the record number from 2008 and 2011. Portugal and Romania will return after being absent from 2016 contest, while Bosnia and Herzegovina withdrew due to financial difficulties.

Portugal never wins, and some years I just want to dig a hole and hide myself because it's... bad, like really, really bad, but whatever! It's fun anyway :D

If anyone wants to inform themselves better about Eurovision 2017 -

I don't think the USA was invited.

I read the following about the event - "On 30 January 2017, it was unveiled that the theme for the 2017 contest would be Celebrate Diversity; executive Jon Ola Sand explained that "The notion of celebrating diversity is at the heart of Eurovision values: it is all-inclusive and all about countries around Europe, and beyond, joining together to celebrate both our common ground and our unique differences, as well as some great music.""

Interesting that good music is only secondary in this song contest.

Eurovision was created to unify a divided Europe after WWII through music. Music was never the priority - that's only the method they chose.
