I put the brakes on. I have to. They are better at arguing than I am. All I say is: agree to disagree. Adding another divisive component to our family dynamics is just not worth it.
I don't know why but, discussing politics can be very hostile in the UK.
Oh our political talk often leads shortly to religion talk because everyone is telling each other to go to hell.
No I don't dare discuss those two topics with my family it requires me to speak with them.
We sometimes discuss religion, but NEVER politics.
Nope...never discuss politics or religion with family or coworkers. etc..
Everyone i know is too busy living their life.
Funny how i never see all the hate in real life, like i always see online about those two subjects...
That's why neither one of those subjects will ever keep me awake at night
People do tend to.....well...exaggerate..
Does your twin see politics the same as you do?
Are you sorry you ever told me you have a twin?
Yes and no.. lol
You are twins indeed! (What would I say if you disagreed? Ha.)
HELLO WORLD!!! DANDY HAS A TWIN!!
I don't think the world is going to hear you on here..
Try something outrageous, after you get their attention and the news crew drives up...then announce it...lol
I hope your twin isn't as damn cheeky as you are...:)
Is he your evil twin? 乂^◡^乂
That would be hell...lol
Dandy does have a twin you know.
Not everyone, since I already know how some respond to a different opinion, and that would be just a waste of time.
My family and i are on the same page, so......we discuss, but do not argue or debate
Yeah politics certainly takes a back seat in Britain compared to America. We elect people and unless they're doing a really shit job we just leave them too it. 乂º◡º乂
I just listen for a while and slip out the back door.
Yeah I discuss (never debate) both with family. 乂º◡º乂
Yes, we discuss politics, we've always talked about such things around the dinner table at night. Now my adult children are seeing my point of view and point things out to me daily. I just reminded them how much I appreciate
Winston Churchill's POV paraphrased, If you are not a liberal when you are young, you have no heart. If you are not a conservative when you are old, then you have no brain. Perfect!
That's a lot to live up to...and I don't know how many people will ever switch.
It's the reality of the real world and the growing up in it. I've experienced exactly what Churchill spoke of. It's fine to be idealistic when you are young and want to right the whole world. Then you get a job, pay taxes, see how misspent you hard earned money is, decide you can do better with your money for your family than all of government. That's when you go conservative. Still have compassion but realize that quite a few recipients of tax money make bad decisions for generations. This makes it harder on those who do need temporary help when they get in a bind and sometimes that temporary "help" turns into that generational lifestyle.
My family units do not seek each other's companionship on any subject. It's like a bus station: lots of familiar faces, but nobody wants to get close.
You could write a novel.
so glad my family are all in agreement over trudope
Oh god...please...spare us. What ever happened to positive thinking?
While we are waiting for the next election...we might as well practise it.
only 2 and a half more years and we can get this clown out of office! is that positive enough for you?
trudeau is the dictator MSM tried to accuse harper of. while harper had us in a surplus trudeau is bound to put us in the TRILLIONS in debt, nothing Trudeau has done has been to help Canadians
That kind of attitude will get us nowhere. Geez. Brighten up. Seriously sh9683.
Nothing you can do, can you?
so just bend over and let him screw us. thats what you are saying?
What can you do? Except complain about it?
