Oh I found myself telling my 8 year old daughter...Back in my day kids didn't have cell phones
I've heard so many i can't keep track..
Somebody was telling me one about walking 5 miles to school, through 2 feet of snow, carrying their younger brother on their back and fighting off wolves with one arm...
My father, who lived in South Dakota - brrrr, told me about coming home from school in a snowstorm. when he got home his father learned that he had come home without his snow boots. He made my father go back to school in the storm to get his boots. No wonder my father chose to live with his aunt after that.
Oh the poor dear that is just awful. I have a friend that use to live in SD & she said the winters here are nothing compared to the winters there.
That would have been over 80 years ago and since then he spent 20 years in the navy and raised 5 kids. We always heard about the boots when we didn't do what he told us to do.
I use to get stories like that all the time
I just like telling people about the time when we had encarta and no internet connection. At most we had Netscape Navigator which only when clicked came to a prompt for me to set up a dial up connection and we never did. I used to make powerpoint "movies" out of the encarta images and game screenshots making them move around and made a parody of wizard of oz called the Whizzer of Odd which was the whole movie done with bathroom references.
Back in my day.......
This box thing hung on the wall
It had a dial and a a transmitter and a receiver(i think...).
The really high tech thing about it was....it had a 20 foot cord....
I got a few xD
