Like we need any more amoral animosity between genders
Sexism is alive because women allow it to be.
Many, many women.
I reckon that is why each woman, who feels oppression, needs to empower herself.
But, i am afraid during my lifetime, that wont change.
Do you think some women really don't understand the issues? It's not like they teach it in school...and unless you have a mentor...how is one to learn?
You cant float through life not knowing about what goes on around you.
If a woman doesnt understand the issues that effect her, then it is only because she chooses not to
You mean shows like Fear Factor?
yeah or Hells Kitchen. I feel like it creates unnecessary incentive to hate the other sex or at least mock them.
They do pit sexes against each other unnecessarily....and so negatively, too.
Isn't this an example of damned if you do, damned if you don't? While we have people saying they don't like seeing boys competing against girls, the same people say girls should be able to compete against boys for spots on boys sports teams, but it isn't fair for boys to compete for positions on girls sports teams.
Then, if we made all sports unisex, where making the team is based 100% on competing equally for the positions, it would eliminate a large percentage of girls being able to compete. (I hate that idea since I think everyone should be given the chance to compete)
It's enough to make ones head hurt.
Well the sports teams would be mixed boys and girls so it'd be the same as a team on a show being mixed boys and girls. I don't like boys vs girls in sports either. Segregating them adds nothing but incentive to dislike the other sex.
While having those mixed teams can be fun in some intramural sports, I don't see it working in competitive physical sports.
I agree with what you say about it causing some dislike or anger towards members of the opposite gender, especially if it is perceived that person was responsible for a loss. (Men AND women can be highly competitive and both hate to lose) When women can be highly entertaining as well as a gifted athlete, they start to draw crowds as well as money to their sport. ex. Rhonda Rousey. (yes, I did pop down $60 for pay per view and was disappointed to see her lose 2 fights ago)
yeah that was a real upset.
But I always thought it should be about physical strength not what genitalia you have. If a girl can lift as much as a guy and run as fast or whatever I don't see why they can't be on the same team. We're not made of sand you know
It "sounds" good Janet but we both know it would never work.
I like the fact that women can compete in sports at ALL levels, middle school through old age.
I know your argument sounds good on the surface that if a girl has the physical strength and can compete against boys she should be allowed to compete on boys teams. If that were allowed, it would be, and should be, the end of ALL girls sports.
If there was a girls soccer team and boys soccer team and you felt you were good enough to be on the boys team, you think you should be given a spot, right?
What about the boys who were not good enough to make the boys team? Shouldn't they be allowed to try out for the girls team? What would eventually happen to girls sports? There wouldn't be any.
The argument you raise about " If a girl can lift as much as a guy and run as fast or whatever I don't see why they can't be on the same team", doesn't hold water Janet because there is no woman who is as strong or as fast as the strongest or fastest man. Thats just a fact. That's why we have division of the sexes in sports.
Like I said earlier, I really like Rhonda Rousey. Would anyone even know her name if there wasn't a special class for women only? It's not saying men's sports are better, just different.
I thought we were getting away from gender recognition. Oh, w3ait, this is 2017 - wait, are we just going to shower together, or was it that you want girls in the Boy Scouts? I know that everyone is supposed to get cake - but since Trump is president now, no one gets free cake.
Awe phuck it - rent a movie!
No one gets cake at all except fat cats who are so full from cake they cant eat another bite....but they do...and then they puke all over everyone else
That's the trickle down effect XD
Do you know what 'amoral' means?
a is a prefix meaning lack of moral well you know what that means. Pitting sexes against each other represents a lack of morals because it encourages sexism even if not overtly. I've seen the boys team taunt the girls team when they beat them in Hells Kitchen calling them bitches and sluts it was disgusting. I woulda punched those men in the face if they acted like that around me
When two or more people live in the same area they have to adopt some rules about who does what to whom. Any such rule is called a more', pronounced "mor-ay". The adjective form is moral, and the habit of following more's is morality. More's do not have to be right, only accepted. Another group on the other side of the river might have very different more's.
The word is not directly associated with sexual behavior.
Teen girls are usually stronger and more aggressive than teen boys, up to about age 17 or so. The boys know it's not supposed to be that way and they just need time to grow and learn how to behave like men. They need to be protected during that time, and that is why boys and girls should not be allowed to play sports together or to compete directly.
