What is it like where you live?
this place is really crowded. Like really. A high school football field seems immensely vacuous.
(largest open space in town)
There are strip malls and banks as far as the eye can see!
(this is not a city it's a former rural area)
There's an abandoned drive in theater where we hang out and get drunk and I always hack out some of the old equipment to keep. I've got some old speakers I'm gonna put on ebay maybe make some cash on the side. Collectors will probably like that and I'm a junker.
Speaking of junk there is quite a lot of it around here
There is like one breath of fresh air called harriman state park.
But in the winter no matter where you are the snow is dirty
And you can never escape manhattan here.
The place I live is not the place I would like to stay. It's quiet and a bit in the outskirts.
despite my town being a NYC suburb full of stuff, it's still boring as shit I mean, It's got this feel that the only new things they want to build are new banks, fast food clones, and overpriced houses so be careful where you go to, NY suburbs are not anything like NYC it's just like maybe a big mall in town form with some garbage in the grass
I always pictured you living in like this cool like girl-bachelor pad but like in the middle of the desert for some reason with like a beast wars style defense system. don't ask me why.
is it Nebraska? I think that's the dead opposite of NY
at least its not new jersey!!! ahhhahahaha
is that better or worse...or about on the same level?
Doesnt have to start nice to make it a home.
I know you are gonna leave it.
But if a house has a good foundation, you can turn into whatever you wish....
It's a small city of around 10,000 people in which many of the people that I see every day, I know. We've got mostly friendly people here, A diverse culture for such a small place.
Around here is quiet. It takes a drive to find people.
I like it like that
Around, there is some manufacturing, but the area mostly survives on tourism.
Snow and ice in the winter, long assed winters, eats some of falls slice, and a chunk of springs too.
Water and wilderness in the summer. Much of both.
If you are looking for exitement, this isnt the place.
Excitement. I wonder what that's like..
so its like New Jersey
Janet...being on some of your posts are like calling Sanctuary. Nice vibes.
I live in the suburbs of a large city, close to shopping and stores, my neighborhood is heavily wooded, and beautiful place to live.
Bangor Maine isn't too big but it is the shopping center of this part of the state. We have too many stores and malls. The traffic is horrible. Thing is I was born here so what can I do. Also very cold we are supposed to get 6 inches more snow today. This was a nice place when I was growing up so I keep wanting that back, just wish to have fewer people driving the roads
I used to live in Belfast ME..back in the late 80s with a friend of mine in a small cabin....no utilities.A clean lake down the hill,a friendly dive bar at the end of the road, one small convienace/gas station,a diner and a dance hall up the road.Life was outstanding...swimming,fishing,shooting guns and just enjoying the fresh air...until the winter season approached...thank god for the family down the road that took us in or we would have frozen to death
Really - Why did they take you in, were you living in a tent? I was just talking to my good buddy from Brooks. He grew up in Belfast and tells me any time you see good looking people around there they are from away LOL.. Tell me if you ever want to visit that area again, my buddy in Brooks owns 250 acres and will rent out a spot to anyone for camping or hunting. .
There were a few small cabins up on a hill..(one that my friend bought)...I wish I could remember exactly where,so long ago.One of my friends who stayed with us met a lady who owned a farm near us...he hooked up with her and we were all invited to stay with them to keep warm.Maine hospitality.
I've never been to maine is it worth visiting? Im gonna visit every state but Maine I could drive to without staying more than two days
Yes great place for anyone who likes hiking ocean mountains I am in a town but most of this state is nothing but trees. Check out Baxter state park up north and On the ocean Acadia
