What is your secret to dealing with stress?
I have a problem with stress and anxiety, there's only three things that work for me and none of them I can do when I'm working. So medication (makes me drowsy therefore I mostly can't take it), exercise... and I mean a lot, like 2 hours of running or swimming/surfing, not a 10 min walk and lastly sex, but that seems to require someone to help out so mostly I just have a coffee and eat something bad and get sick from it like everyone else
I just break things and eat ice cream because the list you have wasn't working for me either
I understand about the medication. My doc wants me to go back to Lexapro, if I did that pretty sure my posting privileges would be revoked because I really don't care what comes out of my mouth
I know what you mean about Lexapro. I know that works for some, but SSRI's didn't help me and in fact I felt so detached from reality that I couldn't work. I take Temazepam, which is great and also makes me sleep and no side effects if only taken very infrequently. So nothing really when I need it other than ice cream and breaking things
I was actually just reading about an airline pilot who boarded the flight to fly but basically had a breakdown due to stress and divorce etc. I thought it was actually great she let it out and got off the plane before trying to fly rather than some who bottle it up then try and control the plane in a very anxious state. Still it must have been unnerving for the passengers.
Oh wow that would be very scary. Kinda glad I don't fly.
Yes OZ exercise will help me too, but it isn't easy here right now, I loved going to the Y every day., but that went out of business then i went to Planet fitness. Awful place that blasts you with loud commercials for themselves, that was not at all relaxing, so all i can do is outside which isn't easy in winter in Maine. Thank goodness spring will be her in 3 months or so..
I can understand that, it's really difficult finding a good place to exercise that suits you, and when you have the time. And you're right about the weather, when it's extreme that can make it impossible for weeks and many of those gyms aren't fun. The one I go to is good although it plays rap mostly and I hate that. I can't imagine loud commercials for themselves repeating. It's like, they've already got you there, they should advertise outside.
I have been there done that too.
I look around for something to take. And I get on the phone...
That is what my mama would do sometimes when feeling stressed.
When the favorite team is playing it is hard not to get stressed out. I had nothing ladylike coming out of my mouth when the Cowboys lost because I so thought we were going to the Super Bowl.
It sure would have been a good game. I am hoping maybe next Super Bowl. :)
I got my fingers crossed :)
Well not ice cream but I have other comfort zones I stay in to avoid the big bad responsibilities
My cure for most problems is to sleep.
I bury it all deep down in a seething pit of hostility. :)
