Do you agree or disagree with the petition?
You have not explained what this is about. Is it a thread for insiders only?
This is about the absence of an animal welfare policy for Qdoba restaurants.
//"Unlike other restaurants, Qdoba refuses to publish a basic chicken welfare policy. Qdoba has already fallen behind the leadership of Chipotle, Panera Bread, Shake Shack, Le Pain Quotidien, Pret A Manger, and Starbucks—restaurant chains with detailed public commitments for improving the welfare of chickens in their supply chains." //
I love Qdoba
How does Mr. Wexler know exactly where Qdoba gets its chickens?Does Mr. Wexler work for the USDA?Has the chicken supplier used by Qdoba been investigated or shut down, or fined?
Just curious because the only information I could find was the link you provided in your source and a website called "Honk if you are vegan.com"
Also I found this which was a very interesting article
I am totally against animal abuse but I need to see proof that a place is buying for a supplier than engages in it.
A homemade 1:46 minute video just doesn't cut if or me
I've already made another post about the usatoday article. Here is the post:

I understand your need for evidence to believe something. Yet, is it reasonable to expect big industry and commercial to self regulate and bring attention to their misdeeds? Not in my opinion, Big Tobacco is a great example.
Big Tobacco knew what they were doing and hid the truth from the public. The same happens with other industries. I can't give any more evidence than the homemade video of animal cruelty. What I can give is Qdoba's animal welfare policy and their competitors. You can read for yourself if Qdoba is up to par with the competition.
Finally, I recommend the Merchants of Doubt book.
Thank you for the link Vegan.
Oh there is a topic a truly love the big tobacco companies. Sorry I still will never see them as being at fault. Nor do I feel that they are responsible for paying for the choices the public made. Alcohol is pretty much killed my brother. Does this mean I can sue not he was the one that chose it as I am the one that chose to smoke. They didn't make people smoke, they chose that on their own but that is a different story.
When it comes to accusation such as these I need to see factual proof for as the are pretty be accusations. I know McDonald's supplier out of TN was busted. As it was being investigated there was proof therefore I believed it.
I will check those out. I am always looking for interesting things to read.
I've made another thread here if you want to continue the conversation.
Thank ya. I would be happy to join
They should come up with product that is made of tofu and tastes like chicken.
Animal welfare policies from companies is a great start in the right direction, in my opinion.
We are amnivores.
Not enough wild game to feed us all
But.....i am an animal lover too
Humane treatment of any animal, even those raised for consumption, should be compelled.
Chimpanzees rarely eat meat, when they do it is monkeys and insects. The bes way to explain is that humans are capable of eating meat, but fare better on a plant based diet. Sort of like rabbits and cows. Rabbits and cows can eat meat, but they do better eating plants.
//"Their diet consists of up to 80 different plant foods, and they will spend anywhere from six to eight hours per day looking for food. Sometimes, chimps supplement their diets with meat, such as young antelopes or goats. Their most frequent victims, however, are other primates, such as young baboons, colobus monkeys, and blue monkeys." //
Bonobo monkey's are closer to humans genetically than chimpanzees.
"The bonobo’s diet is largely vegetarian. Foraging in small groups, bonobos feast primarily on fruit, but they also eat leaves, flowers, bark, stems, roots, insect larvae, worms, crustaceans, honey, eggs, and soil. Occasionally they hunt small mammals like flying squirrels or duikers (small antelopes)"
Sure why not
