No, definitely not "racist". I very rarely feel any inclination to makes derogatory comments about someone else's appearance.
When someone like Trump consistently demeans and makes mean-spirited comments about other people's looks and such , however, it's pretty tempting to make fun of his......
Exactly. He demeans people in reality, we tease about his hair on an opinion site. Big difference.
Well no, not really. It is the seeming 'self-righteous' indignation that many on the "Right" are displaying that bugs me. Some of those same people think it's perfectly fine when they are saying really ugly shit about the other side.
As far as the current president's adult children? 3 of them do seem to be very involved and outspoken in their father's administration. Nothing so wrong with that in itself. But...his grown sons are trophy-hunters, one of them in particular. My disdain for them has nothing to do with who their father is.
Yes, "we" can do that. I almost always do, because that is what *I think is "right".....
Who's this "we"?
I don't know about you, but I'm certain that I've not contributed to increasing "hate" in this nation or any other.
Hate is, I think, an often very 'misused' word. Should I wish to ridicule Donald Trump's appearance, however, I would feel my doing so was justified, for the reason I stated in my response to this post.
No, *I do not think you would be justified. If YOU do, that is obviously your business.
I do believe I've already explained well enough, why *I understand the temptation to make fun of Donald Trump's appearance.
You are mistaken.....I do not "gleefully applaud" comments or posts demeaning the 'looks' of Trump or his supporters.
It is a recurring theme in movies, TV shows, and books that an insulting, cocky, bullying type person gets some sort of comeuppance. That is because most of us mortals kind of like that, when it happens.
I think it's great that YOU are above such petty feelings.
Yeah, he obviously did. It does seem that he has no conscience, considering that he doesn't even feel the need to ever ask "God" for forgiveness, although he's a self-proclaimed "good Christian"'....
"Comeuppance" is an open to interpretation word, GaryPagano. I did say some sort of comeuppance there, in attempting to explain further why I understand the temptation to ridicule Trump.
I've never called anyone a "conservatard", myself. I've seen many other people doing it, and they sure aren't any kind of teachers of mine. Neither are the numerous people who attempt to, and often do, insult those they perceive as "liberal".
No, the "rules" haven't changed for me. I know that George W Bush was ridiculed, as were Barack H Obama and many presidents before them.
Gary...or who ever you are....the making fun of people is not a constant thing... I take that back... About Trump...it has to be...hee...hee...so sad, too bad... Those at the top have got to get used to having stones thrown at them...hee hee...I can't help it but I laughed about him even before he became whatever he is now.....
I give him this......he has been teased about his hair, to his face, and he takes it in stride.
He is proud that it is his own.
No cuz his skin is not a natural color neither is his hair
Nope. With hair like that how can we not joke about it. lol
I think he already teases his hair and talking about anyone's skin color is deeply frowned upon. Why not talk about something of worth, like his policies?
I guess the question you have to ask is, would it be racist to tease obama about his skin color? Either you have a standard of ethical behavior that applies to all, or you have none.
They used to tease Obama about his big ears.... and Michelle Obama about her looks and her big butt. Even photoshopped her photo to make her look like an ape. Now that's sick. So now it's our turn.
Need I say more? Now, back to my original question of, would it be racist to tease obama about his skin color?
I can post as many caricature pics of Bush with big ears as there are of obama with big ears if you want to see them.
Yes it would be racist, but a man's race and a man's hair are two major differences.
Look up ANY president and you will find caricatures of them. Why is one of obama racist and offensive, while none of the others are?
I'm not the one who mentioned skin color. That was in the original post.
It's like I said originally, either you have the same standard of ethical behavior for everyone or you have none at at.
