There are several musical connoisseurs on here... Markymark is one of them...oh and Serenity...she adores music...they are the ppl you should be speaking to...
And could you also write down what type of music it is? Classical, Rock...etc... That might help, Cisco. :)
I have a hard time labeling my music anything other than music.
I don't necessarily have a specific genre in mind when I write my music.
Angst...verses torn from my Soul ,that can leave another raw.
That's what I call your style of song writing that you have shared with us so far , similar to some of my Poetry.
you may have other ideas though , they're your Creations Unique to you.
post us the lyrics please Cisco
I really get the feel of a song from the creators words
and I do Love a bit of Angst.
thanks for posting us another one of your songs.
Checkout this other song of Cisco's Guys and Gals.
Yes, I would like to have the lyrics to both songs.
I posted the lyrics to Carla on his other post Vic.
Derail my train, fogging up my cloudy brain.
Relieve my pain, doing it anyway that I can.
Smoke in chains, life's the carpet I'm the stain.
And I'm counting, counting down slowly
I don't want to waste my time anymore.
This I know for sure
Every little thing I try to do, nothing that I feel is ever true, every single point I try to prove it's useless.
You give and you give and they're gonna take it away from you.
Then repeat the verse and chorus
Well, I think that is called a lament, which means a sad song. You need to work on an introduction, which is a short instrumental bit that lets people figure out that you are about to start singing and they should settle down to listen.
I have a couple songs where I do lead into the lyrics, this one was my last idea for a song so it's just a rough draft.
Cisco - You are just so nice to look at, too bad I can't understand a word you sing.
Honestly not bad Cisco.
"Smoke in chains, life's the carpet I'm the stain."
Definitely the best part. Find where you were in your head when you wrote that part. Build off it. As far as what I would focus on.. Annunciation. You have a good voice. It would be that much better if the lyrics were crisp. Now obviously a band would help. Though I don't think I'd go traditional with you. Especially with this song. This might sound crazy to you though I think you need to find 2 people. One who can play a wicked violin to back up your guitar, and somebody who can play a steel drum. It may feel awkward at first.. trust me it would work.
I'm becoming more fond of acoustic sessions. I do have a group of people I jam with.
It's good man. You need some changes. I've often found those by just putting 2 songs together, sometimes 3. You don't want the song to feel the same all of the way through. You need a build up and a climax. That being said; you're doing fine young man. Just mix it up a little more.
I end up molding two songs together, all of these songs are just rough drafts. What I have written is how it stays until I come up with something else I like.
That too. :)
DW, I've been playing since I was 4.
Awesome. :) not sure when I started singing and writing. 12 maybe. Lol. Though after a few years on the Road with the Grateful Dead. You hear quite a bit that is off the beaten path. :)
That's for damn sure. Those guys were fucking whacked. Very talented and misunderstood.
One of the craziest nights was around a Huge Drum Circle. 3 girls from Ireland were there and started up a chorus that was beautiful. They taught me the lyrics and I sang along. One of my friends ran back to his bus and grabbed his trumpet to play along. It pisses me off to this day that it wasn't recorded. :)
I can't sleep man. I've got to take my momma's ashes to church in the morning and I just can't sleep. Jeesh. Still though, I understand this young dude's lust for writing original music.
I've been there my friend. My Stepfather was actually the toughest. It's a weird process. You go through a whole lot in your head. It's a whole death and creation thing. Keep focusing on the music. Focus on the good. Celebrate life when you can. Accept when you can't. I whistle a lot. Don't even realize I'm doing it. I think it is some form of a subconscious battle. When you can sleep again. I hope you sleep well. When you wake up... keep playing.
me too; I whistle all of the time. People want to kill me for it sometimes.
Me too. :)
You ever watch the Movie "Brazil"?
Anyway. Keeps me sane or insane. Depending on how you look at it.
This is just one of those occasions that pot should be legal for.
Are you singing in a band?
Not currently. I'm a little old now. Haven't had the chance for a long time. And my voice isn't what it use to be. Though I still love to write and sing. :)
Glad you posted the lyrics because I barely understood any of them when you sung them. Maybe it's my speakers.
